Delivery approach

Synergize collaborated with our experienced delivery partners, Platinum Renewables, to deliver this project across all sites. Similar to Synergize, Platinum Renewables are TrustMark accredited, MCS-certified installers with experience delivering successful national retrofit and energy efficiency works to commercial and residential properties.

This partnership allowed us to design bespoke, tailored solutions for each National Highways site, ensuring maximum cost savings and efficiency in the long term.

Challenges & solutions

01 Complex stakeholders

This project involved a wide range of stakeholders, including National Highways, their FM providers working as principal contractors on their own projects, and our own supply chain. To ensure efficient collaboration, we implemented a structured stakeholder engagement process and worked closely with the client’s project team.

02 National sites

Sites are spread across England, from the North West, Yorkshire and Midlands to the South West and South East. To ensure smooth project management and efficient coordination, Synergize leveraged our specialist project experience, dedicated decarbonisation experts and innovative digital tools to deliver smooth installation of solar PV and ASHPs.

03 Security on selected sites

As standard, we used drone surveys to assess rooftops for solar PV installation. Where this was not possible due to security on some sites, we used alternative survey techniques and liaised with other contractors on site to ensure a full understanding of building condition.

Project success

The systems installed through this project will significantly reduce National Highways energy bills.

  • At Coleshill Depot, solar PV will save an estimated £23,464 in annual electricity costs
  • At Kneeton Corner Depot, solar PV will save an estimated £9,568 in annual electricity costs
